PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Week 1 - Hall High School @ Simsbury

The visiting Warriors took advantage of several Trojan errors to come away with a 31-26 victory before a packed stadium at Holden Field.  SHS turned the ball over four times (2 INT's and 2 fumbles) and gave up a return on a kickoff to allow Hall field position and points on the board.  Still, the Trojans hung in there and were within five points but could not get off the field with five minutes left giving Hall the win.

Offensive Player of the Week - Mark Bedson

Mark ran for 165 yards and scored all four TD's as he set the pace for the offense.

Defensive Player of the Week - Patrick Shanley

Pat was everywhere and in on every play.  He set the tone for the defense.

Special Forces Player of the Week - Mohammed Haroon

Mohammed was able to pin Hall back on every punt with a 38 yard average on his punts.

Week 2 - Southington @ Simsbury

The Blue Knights and Trojans waged a great battle on Friday night.  The game was tight and a great effort by Simsbury came up a little short and the game ended with a loss to Southington.  Too many penalties in critical situations took points of the board for the Trojans and points were hard to come by as the defenses played tough football all night.

Offensive Player of the Week - Cole Hermsen

Cole anchored a tremendous effort by the offensive line as it held up to the battering from Southington.

Defensive Player of the Game - Aiden Brown

Aiden's interception and play all night led the way for our defense.  His performance provided the kick for the outstanding effort on that side of the ball.

Special Forces Player of the Game - Zach Gilbert

Zach had a dominate performance for this unit.  His effort allowed our special forces to act as a game changer vs the Blue Knights.

Week 3 @ East Hartford

The East Hartford game has been decided by less than two points each of the last three years.  The Trojans faced the #6 ranked Hornets this week and came up one point short from the win.  A late drive brought SHS within one point and the missed opportunity for the two point conversion was the difference.

Offensive Player of the Week - Jackson Harper

In his first varsity start Jackson had 180 total yards in the game.

Defensive Player of the Game - Tommy Guilfoyle

Tommy was dominant all night as he led the team in tackles.

Special Forces Player of the Game - Mark Bedson

Mark's play on special forces kept the game close and within reach for the win.

Week 4 - @ New Britain

The past two seasons have seen the Trojans victorious over the Hurricanes.  This year SHS came up on the losing end to the #7 ranked Hurricanes.  The battle was close until late in the game and then New Britain pulled away for the win.

Offensive Player of the Week - Jefferey Coleman

Jeffrey had a standout performance leading the team in receptions and yards from scrimmage.

Defensive Player of the Game - Collin Crowe

Collin Crowe was everywhere and in on every play in outstanding performance from his OLB spot.

Special Forces Player of the Game - De'Aundre Williams

De'Aundre established himself as a force on KO and KOR this week.

Week 5 - @ Conard

The Conard game is always tough as the Chieftains are always ready to play.  This year proved to be the same and at the end of an offensive dominated performance by both teams Conard pulled away at the end for the win.

Offensive Player of the Week - Jackson Butler

Jackson threw for 300+ yards and had a standout performance from his QB spot.

Defensive Player of the Game - Cole Hermsen

#52 played a dominant game and was a force for the Trojan defense.

Special Forces Player of the Game - Kory Zall

Kory was a perfect 4-4 on his PAT attempts.

Week 6 - South Windsor

Coming of a BYE week the Trojans used the time to roll South Windsor to a 42-0 victory at Holden Field.  The Trojans came out of the gates fast and didn't stop as the offense accumulated 400+ yards and the defense was unbreakable putting up the zero.

Offensive Player(s) of the Week - THE OFFENSIVE LINE

Anytime the offensive can move the ball up and down the field all night the reason is this group!

Defensive Player of the Week - Mike Shulitz

Mike stepped in to a starting role v SWHS and didn't dissappoint.  Responsible for a INT and a fumble which he recovered.

Special Forces Player of the Week - Caden Musser

Caden flew around on Friday night and made sure the Bobcats felt his presence.

Week 7 - @ Enfield

The boys were pumped to take the field vs the Eagles and were looking to make it three straight wins over EHS.  The score was 30-0 at the end of the first half and the Trojans took home their second win in a row.

Offensive Player of the Week - Colby Chase

The senior wideout gave a dominant performance hauling in big catches at all the right times.

Defensive Player of the Week - Mohammed Haroon

Mohammed always seems to be in the right place at the right time and shutting down offenses is what he does best.

Special Forces Player(s) of the Week - Kick Off Team

One of Enfield's  biggest weapons was their KOR team and it was essentially shut down on Friday nite.

Week 8 - Manchester

Friday night came and went and because of the predicted storm no game was played.  The game moved to 4:00 on Saturday but the boys were ready and we defeated Manchester 34-19.  The offense rolled up over 400 yards in a dominating rushing performance.

Offensive Player of the Week - Mark Bedson

Mark Bedson led the offense carrying the ball 32 times for 252 yards.  The most in 22 years of SHS football.

Defensive Player of the Week - Brad Pfaff

A huge interception highlighted a great game by Brad Pfaff who also was among the leaders in tackles for the game.

Special Forces Player of the Week - Patrick Shanley

An outstanding performance by senior Patrick Shanley on special forces was a hug factor in the domination of all our teams on Saturday.

Week 9 - Glastonbury (SENIOR NITE)

Senior nite is special and when it's Tomahawk week it takes it to another level and you dominate Glastonbury in all phases of the game on your way to a 30-7 win.

Offensive Player of the Week - Jackson Butler

Jackson accounted for 197 yards of offense on Friday.  Throwing for 130 and 2 TD's while adding 67 yards on the ground.

Defensive Player(s) of the Week - Spencer Meace & Mohammed Haroon

In a game dominated by the Trojan defense two players stood out.  Mohammed was everywhere and led the team in tackles while Spencer controlled the field from his safety position and contributed 7 tackles.

Special Forces Player of the Week - Mohammed Haroon

Mohammed literally changed the field position and kept Glastonbbury pinned in their own end all night.  He was punting at a different level on Friday.
